Meningitis B (MenB)
Eligible patients should be offered the MenB vaccine according to local guidelines. The standard schedule for infants in the UK is three doses: at 8 weeks, 16 weeks, and a booster at 1 year. For older children and adults at increased risk (such as those with certain medical conditions or during outbreaks), two doses are recommended, given at least 1 month apart, with a possible booster as advised. The vaccine is given intramuscularly, usually in the anterolateral thigh for infants and the deltoid muscle for older children and adults. Paracetamol is recommended after vaccination in infants to reduce the risk of fever.

Prevention
